Nearly 3,300 patients participated in research protocols within the establishment. The Nancy University Hospital responded to 11 national project calls in 2022, winning twice. In the Grand Est inter-regional zone, it submitted nine projects in 2023, including one paramedical initiative, securing seven successful outcomes from the 2022 submissions.  <\/p>\n<p>The Nancy University Hospital has a business project hotel, an innovative space for hosting and housing healthcare start-ups, inaugurated on the Brabois hospital site in 2019. Named IRIS (Institut de Recherche et d&#8217;Innovation en Sant\u00e9) Valley, this platform was created as part of the State &#8211; Greater Nancy Metropolis innovation pact, with 3 ambitious objectives : <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>&nbsp;Develop multidisciplinary projects with strong economic and commercial potential to support the Nancy University Hospital&#8217;s research and innovation initiatives.<\/li>\n<li>Initiate public\/private collaborations and cultivate a robust network to drive the creativity, agility, and efficiency required by start-ups. Start-ups gain unique access to doctors, engineers, patients, and healthcare professionals, as well as privileged use of the Nancy University Hospital&#8217;s advanced equipment. <\/li>\n<li>To reaffirm the pivotal role of the Nancy University Hospital in advancing health research within the Henri-Poincar\u00e9 Technopole, serving the region while enhancing the appeal and influence of the Nancy metropolitan area across the Grand Est region.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As a key player in the development of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies for healthcare and their economic applications, the Nancy University Hospital continues to drive its digital transformation. From undergraduate diplomas to doctoral degrees, the University offers state-recognized qualifications in medicine, midwifery, health professions, dentistry, pharmacy, physical activity and sports sciences. Health research at the Lorraine site is multidisciplinary and translational, driven by 60 laboratories. In the same vein, the Brabois science and medical technology park hosts 300 establishments, 2,000 teacher-researchers, and major national research institutes.  <\/p>\n<p>In the healthcare sector, the Metropolis is committed to enhancing access to care for all and addressing social and regional health inequalities. It has positioned itself as a regional leader through the Local Health Contract, providing financial backing for projects and ensuring urban development initiatives account for health impacts. The Metropolis also collaborates with local healthcare professionals to improve access to <sup>primary<\/sup> care, in response to the ageing healthcare workforce (46% of GPs are over 55), evolving It has taken over from the Fondation NIT de l&#8217;Universit\u00e9 de Lorraine by welcoming the Nancy University Hospital as one of its institutional founding members.
