Innovation

The IHU Infiny is designed to accelerate medical innovation for the benefit of IBD patients. To achieve this, it brings together the expertise and resources of both public and private partners to translate its research findings into tangible solutions. These solutions aim to enhance the prevention and diagnosis of IBD, while improving patient care and quality of life throughout every stage of the treatment process.

By partnering with the IHU, you will play a direct role in reducing medical wandering and enhancing care for IBD patients.

An Innovation Advisor to support the emergence and development of projects.

Within the IHU’s Infiny team, a dedicated Innovation Officer plays a key role in driving and coordinating innovation initiatives, from fundamental research to clinical application. Her mission is to ensure a seamless flow of information across the entire healthcare innovation value chain.
By engaging with a diverse ecosystem—including researchers, clinicians, start-ups, and industrial partners—the Innovation Officer fosters the emergence and development of projects aimed at improving IBD care, whether through industrial partnerships or the creation of start-ups.

This role also involves close collaboration with AFA Crohn RCH to co-develop and support innovative initiatives.

A regional and local environment conducive to innovation

The IHU Infiny is embedded in a dynamic regional and local innovation ecosystem.
Notably, it is a member of POLARIS (Pôle Lorrain Universitaire pour la Recherche et l’Innovation Socio-économique – Lorraine University Cluster for Research and Socio-Economic Innovation), an ambitious initiative supported by nine founding members: the University of Lorraine, CNRS, Nancy University Hospital, INRAe, Inria, Inserm, the Lorraine Incubator, SATT Sayens, and UL Propuls. As a 2023 laureate of the ANR ‘University Innovation Cluster’ call for projects, POLARIS is part of the France 2030 plan, aiming to strengthen innovation ecosystems in Lorraine and position the region as a key player in innovation at the national level.

The University of Lorraine, Nancy University Hospital, and Inserm provide the IHU with access to a vast array of academic, preclinical, and clinical research resources, as well as state-of-the-art technological infrastructures and advanced medical-technical equipment.
