The week of IHU Days comes to a close with a final reflection on the conference held on Friday, November 15, 2024.
Mathieu Klein, President of the Greater Nancy Metropolitan Area and Mayor of Nancy; HĂ©lène Boulanger, President of the University of Lorraine; Arnaud Vanneste, Director General of the Nancy Regional University Hospital (CHRU); Eric Simon, Inserm Est Regional Delegate; and SĂ©bastien Descotes-Genon, Regional Academic Delegate for Research and Innovation, opened the day’s proceedings by highlighting the ambition of this project, which is bringing hope to IBD patients.
After an intense first year, Prof. Laurent Peyrin-Biroulet provided a comprehensive overview of the IHU’s activities, while unveiling exciting new prospects for better understanding and combating IBD.
Highlights included :
- The announcement of strategic partnerships: with Afa Crohn RCH France, in the presence of its President, Corinne Devos, and Managing Director, Anne Buisson ; with GETAID, represented by its President, David Laharie; and with StemInov, represented by its CEO, Julie Hutin.
- Rewarding discussions on prevention, the role of nutrition, and innovations in the food sector. Special thanks to the speakers: Nelly Agrinier (UniversitĂ© de Lorraine – CHRU de Nancy), MĂ©lanie Deschasaux-Tanguy (Inserm-EREN), Benoit Chassaing (Inserm, Institut Pasteur), DjĂ©sia Arnone (Inserm – NGERE), BĂ©nĂ©dicte Caron (CHRU de Nancy), StĂ©phane Desobry (ENSAIA – Ecole Nationale SupĂ©rieure d’Agronomie et des Industries Alimentaires), Pierre Malingrey (Quipment), Marie Maison (Incubateur Lorrain), Cyril Thouret (St Hubert), Vincent Boude (Qualtech Groupe), and Emma Royer (CHRU de Nancy).
- Contributions from BenoĂ®t Labarthe (Agence de l’Innovation en SantĂ©) and Franck Mouthon (Inserm) on the challenges of development and the State’s commitment to research and innovation in healthcare.
- Inspiring testimonials from Michelin-starred chef Charles Coulombeau, who shared his vision of the link between food and health, and Pierre-Louis Attwell (Vogue avec un Crohn).
- Concluding remarks from Professors Patrick Netter and Jean-Yves Le Déaut. The day ended with a final word from the patient, thanks to Pierre-Louis Attwell, who revealed the theme for our next edition: physical activity.

During the lunch break, guests had the opportunity to explore the Inserm exhibition ‘La santĂ© dans notre assiette’ (Health on Our Plate) in the cocktail area. They also had the chance to take part in a quiz based on the information in the 13 panels of the exhibition.
