A Recap of Our Scientific Symposium!

On Thursday, November 14, 2024, Professor Laurent Peyrin-Biroulet and the IHU team had the pleasure of hosting the inaugural IHU Infiny Scientific Symposium at the Château de Brabois.

We were honoured by the presence of the members of our international scientific committee, who set the bar exceptionally high with their presentations of groundbreaking work, paving the way for new research and innovation in IBD.

A huge thank you to all our speakers:

  • Saurabh Mehandru, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York; Marietta Iacucci, University of Cork; and Raja Atreya, University of Erlangen, members of the IHU Infiny International Scientific Committee;
  • David Laharie, CHU de Bordeaux; Bénédicte Caron, CHRU de Nancy, IHU Infiny; Abdelilah Wakkach, LP2M CNR, Nice; Henri Schroeder, NGERE-Inserm, Nancy; Emilie Viennois, CRI-Inserm, IHU Infiny; Marie Boudaud, NGERE-Inserm, University of Lorraine, IHU Infiny; Sophie Vieujean, CHU de Liège, IHU Infiny.

During the event, a prize was awarded for the best scientific poster to Marty Stepniak. Once again, we would like to congratulate him on his outstanding work!

We would also like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our founding members: Nancy University Hospital, University of Lorraine, Inserm, and Metropole du Grand Nancy for their unwavering support.

A special thank you to Arnaud Vanneste, Director General of Nancy University Hospital; Hélène Boulanger, President of University of Lorraine; and Catherine Schuster, Scientific Advisor at Inserm, for their presence, enthusiasm, and insightful words on the developmental challenges of this remarkable human endeavor.

We would also like to extend our warmest thanks to our institutional supporters, industrial partners, and patrons, whose support made the organisation of this first symposium possible.

The success of this event, both in terms of the quality of the presentations and the enthusiasm of the participants, has further strengthened our commitment to advancing research in chronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

Thank you all, and we look forward to seeing you in 2025!
